I’m Chris, co-host of Estranged and Deranged. I’ve spent almost four decades working in nursing and trauma care, walking alongside people in their hardest moments. That work taught me how to sit with pain, speak truth when others stay quiet, and find strength in stories most people would rather look away from.
But here’s the part that really shaped me—I’m a mom who’s lived through the loss of my son Nate and the estrangement from my other child. Those experiences split me open and rebuilt me in ways no training ever could. They’re the reason I use my voice now—to remind other parents they’re not alone, not crazy, and not beyond healing.
Here on this podcast, I use my hard-won insight to challenge toxic narratives around family estrangement, encourage emotional resilience, and create space for the raw, messy middle of healing. My approach isn’t therapy, and it sure isn’t sugarcoated. This is where I use my voice and encourage other parents to do the same. I bring my real-life survival strategies to every conversation—raw, honest, and sometimes a little sarcastic. My hope? That listeners feel seen, understood, and can connect with what is being said about the chaotic topic of estrangement.
